Will secures MSA British Junior ICA title
- 11th September 2005: Will claimed outright victory in the 2005 British Junior ICA Championship when he drove his JRP Intrepid to second place in the first final at Shenington, Oxfordshire. That result secured the title and he could sit out the second final in the knowledge that he was the MSA British Junior Champion. The victory marks another important step in Will’s career as he prepares for a full-time move into international competition next season and underlines his position as one of Britain’s leading kart racers.
Will impresses at Kartmasters
- 10th August 2005: Will overcame exclusion from the pre-Final at Sunday’s Kartmasters Grand Prix at PFI in Lincolnshire to finish a strong 5th in a thrilling JICA class Final. Having been quick all weekend on a circuit which he thoroughly enjoys, Will and arch rival Oliver Rowland collided at the start of the pre-Final and although Will continued he was later excluded and joined Rowland at the back of the grid for the Grand Final.
Fighting Will scores Rowrah victory
- 1st August 2005: Will strengthened his grip on the British Junior ICA Championship when he scored victory in Sunday’s Round 5 of the Super 1 UK Championships at Rowrah, Cumbria. Will overcame difficulties in both practice and his heats to claim a strong 3rd place in the first final and victory in the second final.
Will misses European Cut
- 18th July 2005: Will’s hopes of qualifying for the European Kart Championships at Sarno, Italy, on September 4th were dashed when his JRP Intrepid was punted off the track and into retirement whilst leading the first of two Finals in the qualifying races at Salbris, France. Will had once again been in superb form, winning the first of his heats and ultimately leading Final 1 from lap 5 until the final corner when distant second Scott Jenkins lunged for the lead, taking both drivers out on the spot.
Will dominates Italian Open Masters
- 4th July 2005: Will dominated the fourth round of the prestigious Italian Open Masters series at Val Vibrata this weekend, his JRP Intrepid heading the practice sheets before going on to win both heats and Sunday’s Junior ICA final from pole position. The 14 year old from Hadleigh in Essex was in superb form throughout, his Intrepid proving to be the class of the field.
Will takes double win at Super 1 Round 4 at Larkhall
- 19th June 2005: Qualifying for this round was particularly close with the top four on the grid separated by 3/100ths of a second, with Will taking 3rd place on the grid.
Will to feature on Disney TV
- Friday June 10th 2005: Disney TV has asked Will to feature in a story about Karting. The filming will take place at the Italian Open at Val Vibrata in July. We will let you know when the programme will be screened.
Will takes Stars of Tomorrow win at Shenington
- Sunday 8th May 2005: Will is only competing in selected rounds of the Stars of Tomorrow Championship this year due to European racing commitments but took the victory in Round 2. The race was featured on TV on Sky Sports.
