The Anatomy of KF1 Karting

What is KF1 Karting about?

KF1 is the pinnacle of world karting - much like F1 is to motor racing. Unlike the typical karts you would use at the local hire kart track these machines are the fastest direct drive karts used in competition.

By direct drive, we mean they have no gears and rely on a 40 bhp engine that revs to 16,000 rpm to power an ultra-light chassis that, with the driver on board, weigh just 160 kilos. This enables the kart to reach speeds around 80mph in an instant.

The cornering speeds are also high due to the super soft compound tyres used that last a maximum of around 30-40 laps but are past their best after around 6 laps.

Very physically demanding to drive, these karts are raced purely by professional kart racers with years of racing experience.
